Daniel Plainview is a Californian oil tycoon. After an accident kills one of his employees, he chooses to adopt the deceased’s orphan to appear more family-oriented to investors. But he grows fond of the child.
Years later, Paul Sunday approaches Plainview, telling him of oil found under his parents’ house. However, Paul’s twin brother Eli, who is also a preacher, demands $10,000 for his church. Simultaneously, a man claims to be Plainview’s half-brother.
Russian Ark
Beautifully staged amid the imperial-style chambers of St. Petersburg’s Winter Palace, the tsar’s former residence and now home to Russia’s most famous museum, the Ermitage. Viewers follow the experience through the eyes of a narrator and his traveling partner. They encounter Peter the Great, Catherine the Great, Tsar Nicholas I and II, among others, as they explore the palace’s numerous chambers.
